SA Mushrooms the last stop for Everyday Gourmet

SA Mushrooms are the fourth and final Northern Adelaide Plains business to be visited by Everyday Gourmet with Justine Schofield.

Who doesn’t love mushrooms? With so many different varieties, mushrooms are great in any form - sliced raw and added to a salad, stuffed and baked, or fried in butter and served for brunch.

If you’ve ever wondered how mushrooms are grown, Everyday Gourmet provides a sneak peek into SA Mushroom’s production facility based right here in the Northern Adelaide Plains.

Look at all those tiny mushrooms!

Brothers Nick and Nat Femia co-own the business that their father (who still works in the business) started in 1998. Nick gives Justine a tour of the impressive facility, showing how much work and technology goes into growing premium quality mushrooms.

Justine cooks up a storm among thousands of budding button mushrooms, showing us how to create Mushroom A La Grecque. It’s yet another delicious dish from the Everyday Gourmet kitchen, using some of the finest produce the Northern Adelaide Plains has to offer. If you’re feeling inspired, you can recreate the recipe here.

Justine’s creations never fail to make us hungry.
