Founded in 2023, the group harvests fruit that would otherwise go to waste and shares it with food-relief organisations, volunteers, and tree owners. In just its first year, Fruit Share collected over 11,000 kg of fruit and supported 50 local food-relief groups. • SecondBite is one of Australia’s largest food rescue charities. Founded in 2005 by Ian and Simone Carson, the organisation has grown from collecting fresh produce from markets in Melbourne to rescuing over 25 million kilograms of surplus food in 2023, providing more than 50 million meals nationwide.

The organisation partners with farmers, manufacturers, and supermarkets to collect edible food that would otherwise go to waste. They offer two main donation pathways:

    • Direct Pickup by SecondBite’s fleet

    • Warehouse Deliveries by donor partners

SecondBite distributes all rescued food free of charge to over 1,100 charity partners across Australia, who then provide hampers, meals, and community pantry services. Impressively, every dollar donated enables SecondBite to deliver up to five meals.
