About the Program

The Workforce Development Program is an initiative that aims to address employment barriers in the Adelaide Plains. By working together, we can improve employment opportunities in our region and support the growth of the Adelaide Plains food industry.

The project will involve three key activities:

  • One of the major barriers to employment on the Northern Adelaide Plains is transportation. Our project aims to evaluate transport solutions and act as a broker to create an ongoing transport service that could be privately funded privately by local companies.

Through collaboration, this has the potential to unlock better job opportunities for locals who simply need a form of transportation to get to work.

  • We will conduct extensive workforce mapping of the food industries in the Northern Adelaide Plains region.

By gaining a thorough understanding of how workplaces in the region operate and the unique jobs and responsibilities that exist, we can help create solutions that will boost productivity, optimise operations, and enhance overall performance.

  • We want to promote the variety of career opportunities available in the food industries.

We will create a series of videos that will profile the many career opportunities. These videos will be mainly used for job seekers, job providers and schools to create awareness, and to help change current perceptions of the industry.

This activity is supported by funding from the Australian Government through the Local Jobs Program.
