The Workforce Development Program is now up and running, and the recent inaugural meeting of the Steering Committee marks the exciting beginning of this initiative. This program aims to tackle employment barriers in the Northern Adelaide Plains region, focusing on three key areas:
building transport options for employees
conducting workforce mapping, and
promoting career opportunities in various industries.
The Steering Committee is made up of industry and stakeholder experts from the Northern Adelaide Plains, RDA (Barossa Gawler Light Adelaide Plains) and local employment facilitators. This collaborative effort strengthens our collective knowledge and experience and provides a solid foundation for us all to move forward together.

The consultation period for the Workforce Development Program commenced on Monday 5 June, 2023. We have launched an online survey and provided an opportunity for businesses in the Northern Adelaide Plains region to engage in face-to-face interviews with our consultants. These interactions aim to gather workforce experiences and thoughts, which will be compiled to assist the Steering Committee in making decisions that benefit as many businesses as possible. Our shared goal is to establish the Northern Adelaide Plains as a thriving and prosperous hub for the food industry.
